It is that time of year again, when celebrities attended Oscar night and celebrated the 80th annual event on Sunday, February 24, 2008.

It is a well-known fact that with the big event comes celebrity galas and gift bags brimming with fantastic goodies from brands all over the world. But this year is extra special, because Watkins participated in all the fun!

HEALTHY MAYONNAISE

Here’s a recipe for homemade mayonnaise from Martha Stewart’s cookbook that has been Watkinized and revised for your health. It is absolutely, outrageously good – and good for you!

2 eggs, make sure they are at room temperature.

1/4 tsp. Watkins Dry Mustard

3/4 tsp. Watkins Sea Salt (ground) 

2 Tbsp. Freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 cups Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil (or Garlic & Parsley Grapeseed Oil to make Garlic Mayo)

Combine the eggs, mustard, salt and lemon juice in a food processor or blender. Turn on the machine and pour in the oil, drop by drop, until the mixture thickens. Add the remaining oil in a slow, steady stream. Store, lightly covered in the fridge for up to 7 days. Makes 2 1/2 cups.

 Easy and delightful for egg or tuna fish salad and in sandwiches.

You will need:

• As many potatoes as you think will be eaten.
• Watkins Cooking Spray
• Watkins Original or Garlic and Parsley Grapeseed Oil, to suit your taste.
• Watkins All Natural Sea Salt (Ceramic Spice Mill required for grinding)
• Preferred Seasonings (see recipe below)

Pre-heat oven to 375 F. 

Wash and slice the  potatoes into strips and pre-cook in the microwave on High for 5 minutes. Toss lightly with Original or Garlic and Parsley Grapeseed Oil and arrange the chips on a baking sheet sprayed with Watkins Cooking Spray then bake in a 375 F oven for approx. 20 min., until golden brown.

Suggested seasonings to spice them up:

• Watkins Seasoning Salt,
• Watkins Cajun Pepper
• Watkins Onion & Garlic Pepper,
• Watkins Fajita Seasoning.
